“Millie Bobby Brown opens up about adoption and her family plans as she announces the arrival of her first child with Jake Bongiovi. The couple welcomes their baby girl through adoption.”
Millie Bobby Brown has always been a household name thanks to her role in Stranger Things, but the 21-year-old actress has now entered a new chapter in her life—parenthood. On August 21, she took to Instagram to share the joyous news that she and her husband, Jake Bongiovi, have welcomed their first child through adoption.

In her Instagram post, Brown wrote: “This summer, we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption. We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in both peace and privacy.” While she didn’t reveal the name of their baby girl, Brown’s words were filled with excitement as she and Jake embrace their new role as parents.
Though the announcement may have shocked some of her fans, for others, it wasn’t a huge surprise. Earlier this year, Brown had spoken about her desire to have a family, especially during an appearance on the Smartless podcast with Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes, and Will Arnett. During that conversation, she shared her long-standing family plans, which have been part of her dreams since childhood.
“I’ve wanted to be a mom since I was a baby,” Brown shared. “I told my mum I want to be a mom just like the way my mom was to me and my nan. My grandmother is like a huge part of my life, and Jake knows how important it is to me. Of course, I want to focus on really establishing myself as an actor and as a producer, but I also find it’s so important to start a family, for me personally.”

Brown went on to explain the significance of having a family with Jake, noting that both of them shared the desire for a big family. “I’m one of four, he’s one of four, so it is definitely in our future,” she said.
And just a few months later, Brown and Bongiovi’s dream of becoming parents has come to life.
One of the most touching aspects of Brown’s adoption journey is her perspective on the difference between biological children and adopted children. She shared that for her, there is no difference: “For me, I don’t see having your own child as really any different than adopting. Because for me, my home is full of love for anyone and anything and that is what we stand by, Jake and I. The door is always open, and we want everyone to feel really comfortable.”
As Millie and Jake embark on their journey of parenthood, it’s clear that their home will be filled with love and care, and they are excited to share that love with their new baby girl.
