Millie Bobby Brown, the star of Stranger Things, has welcomed her first child with husband Jake Bongiovi. The couple announced the exciting news today on Instagram, revealing they have become parents through adoption.
In her heartfelt post, Brown wrote: “This summer, we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption. We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in both peace and privacy. And then there were 3. Love, Millie and Jake.”

The couple, who tied the knot in May 2024, has expressed their excitement about starting a family. Brown had previously shared her desire for motherhood in interviews, including on the Smartless podcast, where she said: “I really want a family. I really want a big family.”
She continued, “I’m one of four. He’s one of four. So, it is definitely in our future. Jake knows how important it is to me [to have children]. Of course, I want to focus on really establishing myself as an actor and as a producer, but I also find it’s so important to start a family for me, personally. It’s a huge thing.”
Brown’s new journey into motherhood also means that rock legend Jon Bon Jovi, Jake’s father, is now officially a grandparent. Brown has praised her father-in-law for being incredibly supportive, saying, “When I need him, he is very much there for me in the best ways, always making sure I’m OK.”

Reflecting on her relationship with Bongiovi, Brown shared a warm Instagram post in 2022, before they got married. “Endlessly in love with the year I’ve had! Grateful for my friends, family, donkey (Bernard), my doggies, my puppies’ teeth, and my partner for life,” she wrote, with Bongiovi responding, “Your year, babe. Love you so much.”
The couple got engaged in 2023, and Brown announced their engagement on Instagram with the message, “I’ve loved you three summers now, honey, I want ’em all.”
In interviews, Brown has spoken lovingly about her husband, sharing with The Sunday Times in 2023 that she knew Bongiovi was “the one” after they met. “After we met, we knew we never wanted to leave each other’s side. You can’t pinpoint why [someone is ‘the one’], it’s just the feeling of knowing that that’s the person you want to spend the rest of your time with,” she explained.
The couple’s journey has been filled with love and commitment, and their new chapter as parents has just begun with the arrival of their adopted daughter.
