“Prince Andrew’s book ‘Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York’ removes a claim about Melania Trump’s introduction to Donald Trump by Jeffrey Epstein after Hunter Biden’s statement led to a lawsuit threat.”
A crucial change has been made to a book about Prince Andrew following a lawsuit threat from Melania Trump’s legal team. Andrew Lowine’s Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York, released on August 14, included a controversial claim about Jeffrey Epstein’s role in introducing President Donald Trump to his third wife, Melania Trump.
In the initial print run, which included the first 60,000 copies, the book suggested that Epstein had introduced Trump to Melania. This claim was reiterated by Hunter Biden, who discussed the connections between Epstein and Trump during an interview with filmmaker Andrew Callaghan on Channel 5. Biden remarked, “Epstein introduced Melania to Trump – the connections are so wide and deep.”

In response to this claim, Melania Trump’s legal team issued a letter to Biden, demanding a retraction of the “false, disparaging, defamatory, and inflammatory” statement, along with an apology. Biden responded with a brief seven-word retort, while President Trump supported his wife’s decision to pursue the lawsuit. He stated, “I told her, ‘Let’s go ahead and do it.'”
Melania Trump and the President have consistently maintained that they were introduced by modeling agent Paolo Zampolli in 1998 at a New York Fashion Week party, a story they’ve both shared publicly.

Following the legal threat, the publisher of Andrew Lowine’s book, HarperCollins UK, confirmed that several passages, including the one referencing Epstein, would be removed from future editions. A spokesperson for the publisher stated, “We can confirm that several passages from Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York by Andrew Lowine have been removed in consultation with the author.” However, these changes will not apply to the first 60,000 copies already printed and distributed.
The retraction of the Epstein-related claim follows similar actions by other media outlets. Michael Wolff, who had attributed the claim to a source, had previously published it in a Daily Beast article. Upon Melania Trump’s legal team contacting the publication, the article was taken down, and an apology was issued. The Daily Beast later published a correction, stating: “After this story was published, The Beast received a letter from First Lady Melania Trump’s attorney challenging the headline and framing of the article. After reviewing the matter, the Beast has taken down the article and apologizes for any confusion or misunderstanding.”
Additionally, Democratic strategist James Carville was forced to retract similar allegations about Melania Trump’s connection to Epstein after legal action was taken.
A spokesperson for Melania Trump stated: “First Lady Melania Trump’s attorneys are actively ensuring immediate retractions and apologies by those who spread malicious, defamatory falsehoods. The true account of how the First Lady met President Trump is in her best-selling book, Melania.”
This move to retract the claim about Epstein represents the latest chapter in the ongoing legal battles surrounding Melania Trump’s public image, following a string of retractions in the media.
