A new Reuters/Ipsos poll reveals a major drop in Donald Trump’s approval rating as Americans express frustration over rising prices and the slow progress of the Epstein investigation.
[Unverified] New approval numbers show a major shift in how Americans feel about President Donald Trump as concerns grow around the Jeffrey Epstein investigation and the rising cost of living.
A recent poll shows Trump’s approval rating dropping to one of the lowest points since he returned to office. Earlier this month, a survey of 1,245 Americans found that 63% disapproved of his performance — a number close to his lowest rating ever recorded after the Capitol Hill riot in January 2021.
Now, a new Reuters/Ipsos poll, conducted over four days and released on Monday, paints an even more troubling picture for the president.
Trump’s Approval Drops Again
The poll shows Trump’s national approval rating falling to 38%, down two points from early November. The survey questioned 1,017 adults from across the country and shows a growing frustration among voters.

Two major issues appear to be driving the decline:
The rising cost of living
The slow progress in releasing the Epstein files
Even Trump’s support inside the Republican Party seems to be slipping. His approval among Republicans has dropped from 86% to 82%, showing cracks within his base.
Epstein Case Causing Political Tension
The controversy surrounding the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein continues to impact public opinion.
The Republican-controlled House recently pushed forward a measure demanding the release of the so-called Epstein files from the Justice Department. Trump has publicly opposed the move for weeks, creating tension between him and one of his strongest allies, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene.
Greene claims Trump turned on her only after she pressured him about releasing the files.
Despite the drama, the White House now says Trump will sign the bill once it reaches his desk.
Voters Are Unhappy With How Trump Handles the Epstein Issue
The poll reveals:
Only 20% of Americans approve of how Trump is handling the Epstein situation

That includes just 44% of Republicans
The vast majority — 70% — believe the government is hiding information about Epstein’s alleged clients. This includes:
87% of Democrats
60% of Republicans
Americans More Angry About Prices Than Politics
While the Epstein controversy creates headlines, Republican strategist Doug Heye says the bigger issue is the cost of living.
“People are furious when they go out and spend money at the grocery store, and they can’t believe what they are spending.”
Only 26% of Americans think Trump is doing a good job at handling rising prices. Meanwhile:
65% disapprove of how he is managing the economy
This includes one in three Republicans
The data suggests voters are feeling financial pressure and want stronger action.
