Jennifer Lawrence has opened up about her plans for plastic surgery following a candid reflection on her body after filming a nude scene in the 2023 Netflix comedy No Hard Feelings. Known for her fearless portrayal of Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games series, Lawrence took on a completely different role as Maddie in the raunchy comedy, where she helped a young man lose his virginity before he left for college.
In one memorable scene, Lawrence spent an entire day naked for the shoot, a situation that didn’t seem to faze her. At the time, she joked with Variety, saying, “I didn’t even have a second thought. It was hilarious to me.” However, the 35-year-old actress recently revealed that her feelings about her body have evolved, especially after becoming a mother.
In a candid interview with The New Yorker, Lawrence shared that she plans to undergo a breast augmentation after struggling with postpartum body changes. She also mentioned her nicotine habit, joking that she would need to quit vaping in November due to the health risks nicotine poses to the body’s healing process, particularly after surgery.
“Everything bounced back pretty much after the first one,” Lawrence said, referencing her first child. “Second one, nothing bounced back.” The actress admitted that her body no longer felt the same after the birth of her second child, which led her to consider cosmetic surgery.
When asked whether her upcoming boob job was motivated by the nude scenes she’s preparing for in spring 2024, Lawrence said it was part of her decision, though she added, “Maybe I wouldn’t be hustling to the appointment in the same way,” acknowledging that her desire for surgery was not solely for Hollywood’s demands.
Despite being open about wanting cosmetic tweaks, Lawrence also made it clear that she’s not interested in fillers, as she fears they might alter her appearance on screen. However, she did admit to having had botox, though she emphasized the importance of maintaining her range of expressions for acting roles.
In addition to her honest conversation about surgery, Lawrence has become a role model for embracing self-confidence, acknowledging that, like many women, she’s learning to navigate the changes her body has gone through after childbirth.
