The 63-year-old TV personality, known for her outspoken views and long-standing feud with former President Donald Trump, has a complex family dynamic. Chelsea is one of five children O’Donnell shares with ex-wife Kelli Carpenter. She also adopted a son, Clay, with her late ex-wife Michelle Rounds.

Chelsea, a mother of four, was sentenced to prison on October 22 after her probation was revoked. In February, she had pleaded guilty to charges including resisting an officer, felony bail jumping, and methamphetamine possession. These charges stemmed from a series of arrests in late 2024, where Chelsea faced allegations of child neglect and drug-related offenses.

Initially, she was sentenced to six years of probation in March 2025, but the terms were strict. Chelsea was warned she could face prison time if she violated her probation, which included staying sober, avoiding alcohol and drugs, and refraining from contact with drug users. Chelsea’s probation was revoked after allegations of sexual assault and reports that she had failed to make progress in her treatment program.
