Kelsey Grammer, the renowned actor best known for his role in Frasier, has welcomed his eighth child at the age of 70. The happy news was revealed during the October 27 episode of Pod Meets World, where Grammer shared that he and his fourth wife, Kayte Walsh, had recently welcomed a baby boy into their family.
A Growing Family for Kelsey Grammer and Kayte Walsh
The couple, who have been married for 14 years, already have three children together: 12-year-old Faith, 10-year-old Gabriel, and 8-year-old James. Grammer, however, is also the proud father of five older children from previous relationships, including Spencer, 41, and Greer, 33, from his first two marriages, and Mason, 23, and Jude, 20, from his marriage to ex-wife Camille Grammer.
Grammer, who first met Walsh in 2009, shared how the couple’s journey began when Walsh, a flight attendant, served on his flight to London. Their coffee date soon turned into a blossoming romance, leading to their marriage in 2011. With the birth of their new son, Christopher, the family of four children marks another milestone in their life together.
Parenting Reflections: A Stronger Bond with His Kids
Despite being a father to many, Grammer has opened up about the challenges of parenting and how he has worked to improve his relationships with his older children. In an interview earlier this year, he admitted to “neglecting” some of his older kids but has since made a conscious effort to be more present in their lives.
“I probably should have been a little more clear and maybe less tolerant with the older ones,” Grammer shared. “I’m still their dad, so you can always show up and make up for it.”
As a father, Grammer is firm on the importance of showing up, focusing on education, and taking responsibility. His approach to parenting has been more specific with his younger children, ensuring they understand the value of hard work and commitment.

Reflecting on his children’s interest in the entertainment industry, Grammer expressed how proud he is that they have chosen to follow in his footsteps. “To think that all my kids… are ready to take responsibility for their lives, and are all drawn to this industry, it’s something to be proud of.”
However, Grammer emphasized that he never pushed his children into acting. “It’s a bit of a mixed blessing to have my last name. People take it out on you, and there’s a split as to whether it’s good or bad,” he said.
