Donald Trump’s health has been under scrutiny after his recent medical check-up. White House physician reports on his ‘exceptional health’ despite concerns about chronic venous insufficiency and unusual multiple check-ups.
Donald Trump’s health continues to spark public interest after a series of unusual events surrounding his recent medical examination. This week, a noticeable bruise on the former president’s hand raised questions about his well-being, especially after his team seemingly attempted to cover it up with excessive foundation.
In addition, Trump’s recent diagnosis of chronic venous insufficiency (CVI) has only added fuel to ongoing health concerns. CVI is a condition where veins in the legs fail to circulate blood properly, potentially leading to serious health complications if left untreated.
On Friday, October 10, Trump attended his routine yearly check-up at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed the visit, adding that the president also planned to meet with troops during his time there. “While there, President Trump will stop by for his routine yearly check-up and will then return to the White House,” Leavitt said, mentioning that Trump is considering a trip to the Middle East soon after.

Interestingly, CNN noted that Trump had visited Walter Reed earlier this year, in April, for another “annual physical.” This raised eyebrows as it seemed like his second annual check-up of the year, which many found unusual. However, experts clarified that multiple annual check-ups are rare but not unheard of, especially when there’s no specific medical issue at hand. Jacob Appel, a professor at the Icahn School of Medicine, stated that it’s not uncommon for presidents to undergo more than one physical check-up.
Trump’s most recent check-up report declared him to be in “exceptional health.” According to Navy Captain Sean Barbabella, who released the memo, the president’s cardiovascular, pulmonary, neurological, and physical performance were all strong. The exam also included the administration of a flu shot and a COVID-19 booster.
In an interesting turn, the report noted that Trump’s cardiac age was found to be 14 years younger than his actual age, a statement that the former president proudly touted. “President Donald J. Trump remains in exceptional health,” Barbabella wrote in the memo.

Trump, ever confident in his health, dismissed concerns over the double check-up, claiming it was a “semiannual physical.” Ahead of his appointment, he humorously remarked, “I think I’m in great shape, but I’ll let you know… Is there wood around here? I’ll knock on it.”
In his usual confident style, Trump also boasted about his previous health exams during a recent speech with Navy sailors. “He was also the doctor for Barack Hussein Obama. Have you heard of him?” Trump said, referring to Dr. Ronny Jackson, his former White House doctor. “And at a press conference, they asked him, ‘Who’s in the best shape, who’s the healthiest, who’s the strongest, who’s the best physical specimen of the three?’ He said, ‘That’s easy. President Donald Trump!’”
Trump’s ongoing self-assurance regarding his health, coupled with the unusual double medical exams, has raised eyebrows, fueling both concern and curiosity about the state of his health as he remains a key figure in American politics.
