Melania Trump, the First Lady of the United States, is threatening to file a $1 billion lawsuit against Hunter Biden, the son of President Joe Biden, after he made harmful and untrue claims about her. According to her legal team, the First Lady is seeking a public apology and retraction of the statements made by Hunter, which she argues have caused significant financial and reputational harm.

The controversial claims were made by Hunter during an interview with filmmaker Andrew Callaghan earlier this month. In the interview, Hunter suggested that Jeffrey Epstein had introduced Melania to Donald Trump, a statement that her legal team has strongly refuted.

The Legal Action

In response to the claims, Melania’s lawyers sent a letter to Hunter Biden’s attorney, calling the allegations “false, disparaging, defamatory, and inflammatory.” The letter demanded a public apology and retraction, or the First Lady would pursue legal action. The letter also states that the accusations made by Hunter have caused substantial damage to her reputation.

Hunter, in his interview, suggested that documents related to Jeffrey Epstein might have links to Donald Trump, claiming that the convicted sex offender had played a role in introducing Melania to the former president. His statements also implied that there were other connections between the Trumps and Epstein, though these claims remain unsubstantiated.

The First Lady’s Denial

The First Lady’s lawyers have firmly rejected these claims. They highlighted that there is no evidence to suggest that Jeffrey Epstein played any role in Melania’s introduction to Donald Trump. According to Melania’s official account, she met Donald in 1998 at a Fashion Week party hosted by Paolo Zampolli, an Italian entrepreneur and founder of ID Models. They began dating soon after, and their relationship grew from there.

Melania has shared the details of their meeting in previous interviews, stating that Donald initially asked for her phone number at the party, but she chose not to give it to him. Instead, she asked for his number. Shortly after, they connected and began dating, with no mention of Jeffrey Epstein involved.

Hunter Biden’s Response

Despite the legal threat, Hunter Biden has remained defiant. When asked if he would retract his statements to avoid a lawsuit, he reportedly responded, “That’s not going to happen.” This refusal to apologize leaves both parties at a standstill, with Melania Trump’s legal team preparing to take further action if necessary.

Media Reaction and Retraction

Hunter’s remarks had previously been echoed by an article in The Daily Beast, which implied connections between Melania, Donald, and Jeffrey Epstein. After receiving a formal challenge from Melania’s legal team, the outlet issued a retraction, apologizing for any confusion caused by the article.
