Thanks to Solano’s efforts, Londoño was located and taken into the custody of the Peruvian National Police (PNP). His family, who had been anxiously searching for him, received the good news that he was safe and sound.

Though Londoño’s family in Colombia was eager to reunite, reports have stated that he may not want to return to his home country just yet. According to local authorities, Londoño expressed that he does not wish to go back to Colombia at this time and prefers his life as a voluntary nomad.

In a conversation with the National Police, Londoño made it clear that he does not consider himself in danger or abandonment. He had been living a nomadic lifestyle, selling handcrafted goods made from bronze and copper as he traveled across Peru. He is described by the police as a polyglot man, at ease with moving between different cities.

After being in the police station for one night and day, where he received food, clothing, and the opportunity to communicate with his relatives, Londoño spoke to his sisters—Olga, Martha, and Lucía—by phone. His family stated that they would respect his decision to stay in Peru for the time being.

Although the authorities suggested he might visit police stations periodically to keep in touch with his family, Londoño explained that he needs to continue his journey on his own terms. “It’s difficult for me to explain that I’m not like other people, but my family is there. From here to Lima, and from there back to Colombia. I need to work a little, I almost never have plans,” he said.
