Lola Young opens up after collapsing on stage during a live performance at the All Things Go NYC Music Festival. The singer shares her health update and thanks fans for their support.
Singer Lola Young has spoken out after collapsing mid-performance at the All Things Go NYC Music Festival on September 27. The 24-year-old British singer, known for her viral hit Messy, was performing at the festival when the incident took place, leaving fans worried about her well-being.
The Shocking Incident
During her performance of “Conceited,” Young suddenly stopped the track and motioned toward her team off-stage. Moments later, she began to stumble backward and collapsed. Band members rushed to her aid, and she was quickly assisted offstage. Remi Wolf, another musician at the festival, stepped in to continue the show and reassured fans, saying, “My friend Lola is backstage, and she is okay.”

Lola Young Updates Fans
Following the incident, Lola Young took to Instagram Stories to provide an update to her fans. She wrote: “Hi, for anyone who saw my set at All Things Go today, I am doing okay now. Thank you for all of your support. Lola xxx.”
The collapse came just a day after Young had pulled out of another performance. On September 26, her manager, Nick Shymansky, announced that she would not be performing at Audacy’s We Can Survive concert in New Jersey due to concerns for her well-being. He explained, “Lola is very open about her mental health, and there are very occasionally days where my team and I have to take protective measures to keep her safe.”
Mental Health and the Pressures of Performing
In her Instagram post, Young expressed her disappointment at having to cancel the performance in New York. She shared: “I’m sorry to confirm that I won’t be playing All Things Go in DC today. I love this job and I never take my commitments and audience for granted, so I’m sorry to those who will be disappointed by this.”

Young also addressed the online critics, writing, “To all the people that love to be mean online, please give me a day off.”
Before her collapse, she had opened up to the crowd about her struggles, saying, “I wanted to perform and I didn’t want to wallow in my sadness. Sometimes life can throw you lemons and you’ve just got to motherf***ing make lemonade.”
A Journey with Schizoaffective Disorder
Lola Young has been candid about her mental health, specifically her diagnosis with schizoaffective disorder, which she was first diagnosed with at 17. In a previous interview with The Telegraph, she described the condition as feeling like “a bottle overflowing,” explaining that while she can sometimes sense an episode coming on, other times it strikes unexpectedly.
Her next performance is scheduled for October 6 in Manchester, England, and fans are eagerly awaiting her return to the stage.
