JK Rowling responded to a parody clip mocking Emma Watson after the actress’ viral podcast comments about their strained relationship. Fans speculate the feud is far from over.
JK Rowling has seemingly responded to a viral Emma Watson interview by endorsing a parody clip that pokes fun at the Harry Potter actress.
The move comes amid ongoing speculation of a feud between Rowling and members of the Harry Potter cast, who distanced themselves from her following her controversial views on transgender issues.
Background of the Feud

Rowling first sparked backlash in 2020 when she criticized an article that used the phrase “people who menstruate.” Since then, she has repeatedly defended her stance, most recently praising a UK Supreme Court ruling that legally defines women by biological sex.
Her views have been condemned by many LGBTQ+ advocates, and stars Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson have all spoken out in support of trans rights. Rowling herself previously admitted she would “never forgive” the actors for, in her words, “cosying up to a movement intent on eroding women’s hard-won rights.”
Emma Watson’s Viral Interview

Five years after the fallout, Watson addressed their relationship on Jay Shetty’s podcast. While making clear she disagreed with Rowling’s views, she said that did not erase her personal memories with the author:
“I don’t believe that by having had that experience and holding the love and support and views that I have, that I can’t also treasure Jo and the person I had personal experiences with… My deepest wish is that I can keep loving people I don’t necessarily share the same opinion with.”
Her comments quickly went viral, with many praising her balance of honesty and compassion.
Rowling Reacts With Parody Clip
I'm already missing @intel_lady's Angela Rayner,
but I'm here for ALL the spoofs🤣 https://t.co/2jdtD9MYw7— J.K. Rowling (@jk_rowling) September 26, 2025
Shortly after, Rowling retweeted a parody video from comedian IntelLady, who mocked Watson’s accent and her attempt to reconcile admiration for Rowling while opposing her views.
The skit included lines such as:
“I will forever be grateful, she changed the trajectory of my life… but I also stand shoulder to shoulder with those who hate her and wish the worst for her.”
Rowling shared the clip on X (formerly Twitter), writing:
“I’m already missing @intel_lady’s Angela Rayner, but I’m here for ALL the spoofs 😂.”
The author’s reaction has fueled speculation that she was mocking Watson’s podcast remarks rather than appreciating them.
