Ben Stiller reacts to Jimmy Kimmel’s suspension after remarks about Charlie Kirk. Celebrities and political leaders join the heated debate.
Ben Stiller has spoken out following the sudden suspension of Jimmy Kimmel Live! after the late-night host’s comments about Charlie Kirk and Donald Trump.
The controversy began when Jimmy Kimmel addressed the death of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk, who was fatally shot in Utah on September 10 while speaking at a college debate. Authorities later arrested 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, who now faces seven charges, including aggravated murder.
During his monologue, Kimmel criticized both Trump and his supporters, joking about the President’s unusual response to Kirk’s death. Kimmel said Trump seemed more focused on the White House ballroom renovations than mourning Kirk, comparing his reaction to “how a 4-year-old mourns a goldfish.”

He also claimed Trump’s supporters were trying to distance themselves from Robinson, calling it a “new low” in political spin.
Show Pulled From Air
ABC later announced that Jimmy Kimmel Live! would be “pre-empted indefinitely.” Broadcasting partner Nexstar Media also confirmed they would not air the show “for the foreseeable future.”
Nexstar’s broadcast president, Andrew Alford, called Kimmel’s remarks “offensive and insensitive at a critical time in our national political discourse.”
Celebrity Reactions

The move has sparked widespread debate. Actor Ben Stiller gave a sharp three-word response on X (formerly Twitter), writing:
“This isn’t right.”
Former President Barack Obama also weighed in, criticizing the suspension as government pressure on the media:
“After years of complaining about cancel culture, the current administration has taken it to a new and dangerous level… This is precisely the kind of government coercion that the First Amendment was designed to prevent.”
Meanwhile, Donald Trump celebrated the decision, posting on Truth Social that it was “great news for America.”
Kimmel has not yet issued a personal response to the suspension.
