Former First Lady Melania Trump has always made it her mission to protect her only son, Barron Trump, from public scrutiny. Now, as the 19-year-old begins his sophomore year at NYU’s Stern Business School, sources say Melania remains deeply concerned about his well-being.
Barron’s College Life
Barron spent much of his childhood at Trump Tower in Manhattan, where Melania shielded him from the media spotlight. When Donald Trump entered the White House, Melania reportedly took on an even greater role in ensuring her son stayed grounded despite the pressures of political life.
Last fall, Barron enrolled at NYU. According to Melania, his college life looks very different compared to that of an average student.
“I don’t think it’s possible for him to be a normal student. His experience at college is very different than any other kid,” she told Fox News. She added that Barron is “very strong” and understands he is in a unique position.
Living Arrangements and Melania’s Concerns
Unlike many college students, Barron has not lived in a dorm. During his freshman year, Melania arranged for him to stay at Trump Tower instead. More recently, reports suggest Barron has moved back into the White House, continuing his studies through NYU’s Washington, D.C. campus.
A source told People Magazine that Melania is especially protective of her son as he navigates young adulthood.
“Melania watches Barron constantly in an effort to be sure nobody messes with him or bullies him. This is a constant worry with her. She always knows where he is and what he’s doing,” the source claimed.
Balancing Parenting With Her Own Work
Although much of Melania’s focus remains on Barron, she also stays busy with her own projects. This year, she has been working on a documentary with Amazon Prime Video, scheduled for release in late 2025. She reportedly split her summer between New York, New Jersey, and Washington, balancing her personal endeavors with her family life.
“Melania is quiet and behind the scenes but always busy with something she is pursuing herself,” the source added.
As Barron continues his college journey, Melania’s protective nature shows no signs of slowing down. Her constant watch reflects the challenges of raising a child in the public eye.
