Jamie Lee Curtis reacts to the shocking death of Charlie Kirk, urging compassion beyond politics and warning about the impact of violent viral videos on mental health.
Hollywood star Jamie Lee Curtis has spoken out after the tragic killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, who was shot and killed on September 10 during a speaking event at Utah Valley University. He was just 31 years old.
The FBI confirmed that the investigation into the shooting is ongoing. Within 48 hours, police arrested 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, a Utah resident, who is now facing charges connected to Kirk’s death. Officials say Robinson has so far refused to cooperate with investigators.

Curtis: “I Disagreed With Him, But He Was a Man of Faith”
During an interview on Marc Maron’s WTF podcast, Jamie Lee Curtis fought back tears as she addressed Kirk’s death.
“I disagreed with him on almost everything,” Curtis admitted. “But I believe he was a man of faith. I hope in that final moment, he felt connected to it.”
Curtis, known for films like Freaky Friday and Knives Out, stressed that while Kirk’s political views clashed with hers, she still recognized him as a father, husband, and man of faith.
Warning About Viral Violence

Curtis also warned about the mental toll of repeatedly watching violent footage. She noted that videos of Kirk’s killing were circulating online and compared it to the lasting trauma of watching 9/11 footage replayed for years.
“We don’t know the long-term psychological effects of being bombarded with violent images. I don’t ever want to see the footage of this man being shot,” she said.
Tributes From Across the Nation

Curtis was not alone in paying tribute. Celebrities such as Chris Pratt, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Jake Paul also expressed their condolences.
Political leaders, including Barack Obama, Joe Biden, and Kamala Harris, issued strong statements condemning the act of violence. President Biden added:
“It must end now. Jill and I are praying for Charlie Kirk’s family and loved ones.”
Meanwhile, FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino revealed that Robinson showed “multiple warning signs” before the shooting, and investigators are examining whether the incident was part of a larger plan.
