Donald Trump says he “couldn’t care less” about fixing America’s political divide, blaming the “radical left” for fueling violence and unrest.
Trump’s Blunt Answer on America’s Political Divide
President Donald Trump has admitted he “couldn’t care less” about fixing America’s deep political divisions, insisting the real problem lies with the “radical left.”
His comments came during a Fox & Friends interview on Friday, just days after the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, which has further inflamed political tensions nationwide.
The Question That Sparked His Response
Co-host Ainsley Earhardt asked Trump how he planned to bring Americans together after videos circulated online showing some people cheering Kirk’s death.
“Because we have radicals on the right as well as on the left. How do we fix this country? How do we come back together?” she asked.

Trump responded bluntly:
“I’ll tell you something that’s going to get me in trouble, but I couldn’t care less… The radicals on the right are radical because they don’t want to see crime. They don’t want open borders. They don’t want our shopping centers burned down or people shot in the streets.”
Blames the “Radical Left”
The president claimed the left is far more dangerous, saying:
“They’re vicious, they’re horrible, and they’re politically savvy. They want open borders, men in women’s sports, and transgender for everyone.”
He doubled down the next day, telling reporters at the White House that Americans must “beat the hell out of radical left lunatics” to save the country.

Reaction to Charlie Kirk’s Death
Trump has issued several tributes to Kirk, calling him a “patriot who loved America.” He ordered flags to fly at half-mast through Sunday and promised to hold those behind political violence accountable.
In a video posted to Truth Social, he said:
“My administration will find each and every one of those who contributed to this atrocity and other political violence. That includes organizations who fund and support it, as well as those who go after our judges and law enforcement.”
A Nation More Divided Than Ever
Trump’s remarks highlight the growing political divide in the U.S. following Kirk’s assassination. While supporters praised his directness, critics argue his refusal to focus on unity may fuel even deeper polarization.
