The Fatal Crash and Its Impact
On August 2, 2025, Jade and Diedre were traveling west on Alexander Run in their 2015 Ford Escape when they approached the intersection with Randolph Siding Road. According to authorities, Diedre failed to stop at the stop sign, entering the path of a northbound 2019 Ford F250 driven by Logan Wolfe, 28, of Jupiter Farms.

The collision was severe, with the pickup striking the driver’s side of the Escape and spinning the SUV before it crashed into a tree. A Vigil to Honor Their Memory
On August 6, around 200 people gathered at the crash site for a poignant sunset vigil. The event was filled with candles, prayers, and tributes of sunflowers, a symbol of love and remembrance. Jade’s friends, classmates, and neighbors attended, shedding tears for the two beloved members of their community.

Jade’s mother, Juanita North, shared fond memories of her daughter, describing her as a talented artist with a vibrant smile and a compassionate nature. “Jade was always there for her friends, especially those who were bullied at school,” Juanita said. “She would walk them to class and offer support whenever she could.”

Jade was very close with her grandmother, who lived just five houses away. The two loved cooking together and trying new recipes. “Mimi was a great grandmother,” Juanita recalled. “She was always there when we needed her.”

Calls for Safety Changes at the Intersection
The family, along with the wider community, is advocating for significant changes to the intersection where the accident occurred. Juanita believes that Diedre, who had lived in Jupiter Farms for over 20 years, did not intentionally run the stop sign. Instead, she points to overgrown foliage blocking visibility of the “stop ahead” warning sign, making it difficult for drivers to see the intersection clearly.

“I want the intersection to be changed into a four-way stop,” Juanita urged. “The stop signs need to be more visible. It’s mandatory, and it’s crucial. I hope this tragedy can save someone else’s life.”

A spokesperson for Palm Beach County explained that decisions about installing four-way stop signs are typically made based on traffic volume, but no decision has yet been made regarding the installation of additional stop signs.

A Heartbreaking Phone Alert
Juanita described the agony of learning about the crash through an SOS alert on her phone, showing Jade’s location at St. Mary’s Medical Center. “My husband immediately drove there, but he didn’t make it in time,” she said, emotionally. “I will never see my daughter again.”

Jade’s school, Jupiter High School, has provided counseling services to help students cope with the sudden loss of their classmate. “They’ve been very supportive, and counselors will be available for any students who need to talk,” Juanita shared.

Fundraising Efforts to Support the Family
In the wake of their loss, community members have launched a GoFundMe campaign to support the North family with funeral costs. As of now, the campaign has raised over $27,000 of its $35,000 goal. The page describes Jade and Diedre as “two wonderful people taken from this world,” and encourages people to show their support for the grieving family.

Petitions for Safer Roads and Better Signage
Efforts to improve road safety at the intersection have gained momentum. A petition created on Change.org by Lena Agrusa has called for the installation of four-way stop signs at the intersection. The petition has already garnered over 1,300 signatures and urges local authorities to take swift action.

Lena writes in the petition, “This crash is a wake-up call to prevent such tragedies from ever happening again. Installing four-way stop signs at this intersection could reduce accidents by up to 45%, according to Federal Highway Administration data.”

A Community United in Grief and Action
The tragic deaths of Jade and Diedre have united the Jupiter Farms community, with friends, neighbors, and local organizations working together to support the family and advocate for safer road conditions. As the petition continues to gain traction, supporters hope that this tragedy will lead to much-needed safety improvements at the intersection and prevent further loss of life.
