Donald Trump says he can end the Russia-Ukraine war “quickly” if NATO follows his plan on oil bans and tariffs on China.

Trump Vows Quick End to Russia-Ukraine War

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has once again claimed he has a plan to end the Russia-Ukraine war quickly. In a message posted on his Truth Social platform, Trump wrote what he called a “letter to the world,” warning NATO leaders that the U.S. would not continue to waste “time, energy, and money” unless they followed his advice.

According to Trump, NATO’s commitment has been “less than 100%.” He criticized European countries for continuing to buy oil and gas from Russia, saying this weakens their negotiating power against Moscow.

Trump said he was ready to impose major sanctions on Russia if NATO agreed to stop buying Russian oil. He also suggested placing 50–100% tariffs on China, which he argued would pressure Beijing to cut its support for Russia.

“If NATO does as I say, the war will end quickly, and thousands of lives will be saved,” Trump wrote.

China’s Role and Tariffs

Trump alleged that China has “strong control” over Russia and that tough tariffs would break that influence. He argued that the combination of oil bans and tariffs would force Russia to end the war.

While stressing that this was “not his war,” Trump insisted he was willing to act to stop the bloodshed.

Previous Efforts at Peace Talks

Trump has made similar threats and proposals before, including tariffs and deadlines, none of which materialized. Earlier, he claimed to have had a “productive” meeting with Vladimir Putin in Alaska, but admitted that they never directly discussed the war.

He later hosted Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer at the White House to discuss possible ceasefire options, though no breakthroughs were announced.
