Kirk was fatally shot while speaking at a debate event, sending shockwaves across the nation. Authorities confirmed he was struck by a single bullet fired from a rooftop before the shooter escaped into the surrounding area.
New Footage Shows Shooter Fleeing
In a statement posted on social media, the FBI revealed surveillance footage showing the alleged gunman jumping from a rooftop and running away immediately after firing the fatal shot.
The agency confirmed that trace evidence was recovered at the scene, including shoe impressions, a forearm imprint, and a palm print. Investigators also found the weapon and ammunition in a wooded area near the university.

Person of Interest Images Released
Alongside the footage, the FBI shared new images of a person of interest, urging the public to help identify them.
“We are asking for the public’s help identifying this person of interest in connection with the fatal shooting of Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University. Call 1-800-CALL-FBI with any information,” the agency posted.
The FBI has offered a $100,000 reward for information leading to the suspect’s arrest.

Authorities Confident in Identification
Utah Department of Public Safety Commissioner Beau Mason said investigators are using advanced technology to analyze the footage. While confident they can identify the suspect, he confirmed authorities will seek public help if necessary.
“We are confident in our abilities right now,” Mason said.
The FBI also encouraged residents in the area to check doorbell camera recordings and share any unusual activity with investigators.
The search for Kirk’s assassin continues as the FBI broadens its investigation.
