Authorities have confirmed 22-year-old Tyler Robinson as the suspect in Charlie Kirk’s assassination at Utah Valley University. FBI and law enforcement continue their investigation.
Law enforcement has confirmed the identity of the man accused in the assassination of Charlie Kirk on September 10 at Utah Valley University.
Kirk was fatally shot while addressing a crowd at the university. The FBI has been leading the investigation, gradually releasing updates and asking the public for help. Earlier this week, investigators shared photos of a “person of interest” and requested any videos or footage from the scene and surrounding area.

Authorities also released CCTV footage that appeared to show the shooter climbing off a university rooftop and fleeing the area after the attack.

Now, a law enforcement official speaking to the Associated Press has confirmed the suspect’s identity as 22-year-old Tyler Robinson from Utah.
Trump Responds on Fox News
Before the official press briefing, former President Donald Trump appeared on Fox News, where he hinted at progress in the case. Without naming the suspect, he confirmed that someone was in custody.
Trump explained that a person close to the suspect had helped turn him in, praising both the family’s decision and the quick action of local law enforcement.
“They did a great job. Everybody was working together,” Trump said.
He also called for calm in the wake of Kirk’s killing, emphasizing Kirk’s commitment to peace:
“He was an advocate of non-violence. That’s the way I’d like to see people respond.”
FBI Investigation Continues
Although Robinson has been named, the FBI says its investigation is ongoing. Officials continue to collect leads and review evidence to build the full picture of the attack.
