Investigators discovered a bolt-action rifle wrapped in a towel, along with several bullet casings that carried strange phrases. Authorities have identified the suspect as 22-year-old Tyler Robison from Utah. He is currently in custody. During the press briefing, officials confirmed they had also spoken with his roommate, who showed them a Discord channel allegedly connected to Robison, where discussions about retrieving a rifle were found.
Family Helped With Surrender
Utah Governor Spencer Cox publicly thanked the suspect’s family for working with a pastor to encourage his surrender. Robinson’s father reportedly recognized him in surveillance photos and took action.
Cox also expressed sympathy for Charlie Kirk’s family, saying:
“I especially want to thank the family of Charlie Kirk. I want us to be thinking of them as we bring justice to this case.”

Ongoing FBI Investigation
FBI Director Kash Patel described the crime scene as “large” but confirmed it had been processed quickly. While the investigation continues, Cox noted that no further arrests are expected at this stage.
When asked about the bizarre bullet messages, Cox responded:
“I’ll leave that up to you to interpret. The clearest one says ‘catch fascists’ — like catch a ball. I think that speaks for itself.”
He went on to call the killing “an attack on all of us,” stressing that the tragedy reflects deeper issues in America today.
