FBI Calls for Public Help in Charlie Kirk Investigation
The FBI has released photos of a person of interest connected to the shocking assassination of U.S. activist and Turning Point USA co-founder Charlie Kirk.
The images, shared on September 11 by the FBI’s Salt Lake City office, were posted on X (formerly Twitter) as authorities continue their urgent investigation.
Kirk, a close ally of Donald Trump, was fatally shot during a debate at Utah Valley University on September 10. Witnesses reported the shooter fired a single round from a nearby rooftop before fleeing the scene.
Description of the Suspect

Authorities described the shooter as wearing dark clothing and appearing to be of college age. Investigators believe the suspect managed to escape by blending in with students on campus after jumping from the rooftop.
The FBI urged anyone with information to call 1-800-CALL-FBI, stressing that public assistance could play a key role in solving the case.
Strong Leads in the Case
Utah Department of Public Safety Commissioner Beau Mason confirmed investigators have obtained “good video” of the shooter. He explained that law enforcement teams are using advanced technology to identify the individual but will turn to the public if necessary.
“If we are unsuccessful, we will reach out to the media and push that publicly,” Mason said. “But we are confident in our abilities right now.”

Evidence Recovered
Special Agent Robert Bohls, head of the FBI’s Salt Lake City field office, revealed that police found a weapon believed to have been used in the assassination.
The firearm — a high-powered bolt-action rifle — was discovered in a wooded area where the shooter may have fled. Forensic experts are now analyzing the weapon for further evidence.
Campus on High Alert
Immediately after the shooting, Utah Valley University evacuated the campus as law enforcement swarmed the area in search of the suspect. Despite these efforts, no arrests have been made so far.
Authorities remain determined to track down the individual responsible, with the FBI’s release of photos marking the latest step in their search for justice.
