FBI Special Agent Robert Bohls confirmed that investigators recovered a high-powered bolt-action rifle believed to be the weapon used in the attack. The firearm was discovered in a wooded area near the university, where authorities believe the shooter fled.

In addition to the rifle, the FBI is analyzing a footwear impression, a palm print, and a forearm imprint recovered at the scene. These pieces of evidence may help track down the suspect.
