Los Angeles police have launched an investigation after a decomposing body was discovered inside a Tesla at an impound lot in Hollywood.
The disturbing discovery was made on Monday, September 8, after workers reported a foul smell coming from the black Tesla.
When officers opened the vehicle’s front trunk (frunk), they found a body sealed inside a plastic bag.
Identity of Victim and Car Owner Unclear
The victim’s identity and cause of death have not yet been revealed.

Reports suggest the 2023 Tesla is registered in Hempstead, Texas to David Anthony Burke — the rising US singer d4vd — though police have not confirmed who currently owns the car.
The LAPD issued a statement saying:
“On 9/8/25 around 12:20 pm, officers responded to the 1000 block of Mansfield Avenue for a foul odor coming from a vehicle at a tow yard. Detectives responded and located possible human remains. It is currently a death investigation. We do not have information on the owner of the vehicle.”
