Matthew McConaughey and his 17-year-old son Levi wowed the red carpet at TIFF 2025. Levi makes his acting debut in The Lost Bus, and fans can’t stop talking about his striking looks and family resemblance.

Hollywood witnessed a family milestone at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) when Matthew McConaughey walked the red carpet with his 17-year-old son Levi McConaughey. While the Oscar-winning actor was there to premiere his new survival drama The Lost Bus, it was Levi who captured the spotlight and set social media buzzing.

A Stylish Red Carpet Entrance
The premiere, held at the Princess of Wales Theatre on September 5, showcased the McConaughey family in full glamour. Levi made his acting debut and first red-carpet appearance in a bold look: a white shirt, sleek black vest, wide-leg trousers, and a red pocket square. A draped fringed scarf gave him a signature bohemian edge, echoing his father’s laid-back Texas style.

Matthew, 55, matched his son’s elegance in a taupe double-breasted suit with a crisp shirt and black tie. They were joined by Camila Alves (Matthew’s wife) and Mary Kathlene McCabe (Matthew’s mother), making it a rare three-generation family appearance.

Fans React to Levi’s Striking Looks
What truly caught attention was Levi’s resemblance to his mother, Camila Alves. Fans flooded social media with comments:
“He has his mother’s eyes.”
“Looks like his mom but with his dad’s curls.”

“He’s going to be more handsome than his dad.”
The father-son bond shone brightly, but online chatter made it clear—Levi is quickly becoming a star in his own right.
Acting Debut in The Lost Bus

Levi stars alongside his father in The Lost Bus, directed by Paul Greengrass. The film tells the story of a father-and-son duo (Kevin and Shaun McKay) fighting to save children trapped inside a burning school bus. Also starring America Ferrera, the movie is set for limited theater release on September 19 before streaming worldwide on Apple TV+ from October 3, 2025.

Interestingly, Levi’s acting journey almost didn’t happen. According to Matthew, Levi begged multiple times for the chance to audition before the director agreed to test him. Greengrass was reportedly “instantly convinced” by his audition.

Levi later admitted he was shocked when he got the call:
“I thought it was a good audition, but I didn’t think I would get the part.”
Levi’s Transformation Through the Years

From a boy holding his father’s hand at the Central Park Zoo in 2010 to gracing the Paris Fashion Week runway in 2023, Levi has grown up in the spotlight. Now, his TIFF debut marks the beginning of what looks like a promising career in Hollywood.
The McConaughey family’s presence at TIFF wasn’t just a movie premiere—it was a moment of legacy. Fans are already calling Levi the “next McConaughey leading man.”
