California Representative Maxine Waters is raising alarm over President Donald Trump’s actions, calling for his removal from office through the 25th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. Speaking on MSNBC on Friday, Waters issued a warning about Trump’s control over the economy and his approach to the U.S. government.
In her remarks, Waters accused Trump of attempting to control the Federal Reserve and influence interest rates by placing loyalists on the governing board. She described this move as “extraordinarily dangerous” and likened it to actions typically seen in dictatorships. “This is the makings of a dictator who is trying to control the entire economy,” Waters said.

The Democratic representative argued that Trump’s administration could lead to economic turmoil, claiming that his policies might “upend the entire economy.” She made a direct appeal for immediate action, calling for the use of Article 25 of the Constitution to remove him from office. “It is time to call for Article 25… to determine his unfitness,” Waters continued. “We need to move very aggressively to talk about the danger to this country and to our democracy.”
Waters’ call for the 25th Amendment is based on her belief that Trump is unfit to serve as president. She expressed her concerns over his leadership and the threat she believes he poses to the stability of the country. “Something’s wrong with this president,” Waters said. “This is absolutely one of the most destructive things that this president could do.”
This is not the first time Waters has been critical of Trump. Previously, she warned of the potential for a war with Iran, especially after U.S. airstrikes targeted Iranian nuclear facilities in June. Waters described Trump as “out of control” and said his actions were taking the U.S. to the brink of war. She argued that peaceful negotiations, not military action, should be the path forward.

In contrast, Trump defended the airstrikes, calling them a “spectacular military success” and boasting about their effectiveness in halting Iran’s nuclear ambitions. “Our objective was the destruction of Iran’s nuclear enrichment capacity and a stop to the nuclear threat posed by the world’s number one state sponsor of terror,” Trump declared in his address to the nation.
The ongoing political tension and criticism from figures like Maxine Waters reflect a broader divide in the U.S. over Trump’s leadership and his handling of both domestic and international issues.
