“FBI confirms discovery of bone fragments and other items during an extensive search for Travis Decker, who is accused of murdering his three daughters. The investigation continues as police search for more clues.”
The search for Travis Decker, a father accused of murdering his three daughters, has revealed disturbing findings. The FBI, which has been leading the investigation, confirmed that several items were discovered during an extensive search of the Rock Island Campground in Leavenworth, where the bodies of the young girls were tragically found earlier this summer.
The Discovery of the Bodies

Travis Decker, 34, was charged with the murder of his daughters, aged five, eight, and nine, after their bodies were discovered on July 2 at the Rock Island Campground in Leavenworth. Decker had picked up the girls from their mother’s house on May 30 but failed to return them home, setting off a massive search.
Nearly two months later, the FBI conducted another extensive 48-hour search of nearly 250 acres surrounding the campsite, involving over 100 searchers. This effort marked one of the most detailed investigations in the area to date.
Items Found During the Search
During the search, law enforcement officials found several items that could be crucial to the investigation. Although it’s unclear whether these items are directly related to the case, the FBI confirmed that they are being carefully examined. Mike Herrington, special agent in charge of the FBI Seattle field office, noted that the examination of these items may take some time.

One of the most unsettling discoveries was a set of bones, found during a grid search by one of the 100 search personnel. Sheriff Mike Morrison shared that it was initially unclear whether the bones were human or animal, but they were sent to Central Washington University’s anthropology department for further analysis.
Investigation Continues
Sheriff Morrison emphasized the importance of the case, saying, “We are trying our best to make sure that this does not just disappear and fade away into memory.” He confirmed that the FBI and local law enforcement have not lost sight of the investigation and are committed to continuing their efforts.
“We’ll have another effort coming here in September,” Morrison said, indicating that the search and investigation would persist as they work to piece together the details surrounding the tragic deaths of the three young girls.
A Heartbreaking Reminder
The case of Travis Decker is a devastating tragedy that has shaken the local community. As authorities continue their investigation, they are asking the public to remain vigilant and come forward with any information that could help bring justice to the girls and their family.
