Trump Outraged After Court Declares His Tariffs ‘Unconstitutional’

Donald Trump has voiced strong disapproval after a US court ruled that his tariffs were unconstitutional and illegal. The court’s decision challenged the Trump administration’s authority to impose such tariffs, which were central to his trade policies.

During his presidency, Trump introduced reciprocal tariffs aimed at tackling trade imbalances with various nations, particularly on “Liberation Day” in April. While many tariffs were delayed to allow negotiations, several came into effect earlier this month.

However, the US Court of Appeals has determined that the president did not have the legal right to declare national emergencies and impose import taxes on foreign nations. The court largely upheld a decision by a specialized federal trade court, which had aimed to immediately cancel the tariffs. Despite this, the ruling provides Trump’s administration time to appeal to the Supreme Court.

As of now, the tariffs remain in place.

Trump, undeterred, took to Truth Social to express his anger, stating, “ALL TARIFFS ARE STILL IN EFFECT!” He accused the court of making a partisan decision and insisted that the United States would ultimately prevail in the dispute. According to Trump, removing the tariffs would “destroy” the country financially, weakening America’s position in global trade.

In his post, Trump reiterated his belief that the tariffs were a vital tool to protect US manufacturers, farmers, and workers. He argued, “Tariffs are the best tool to help our workers and support companies producing Made in America products.” Trump vowed to continue his fight, aiming to use tariffs to strengthen the nation and ensure fair trade practices.

As the Labor Day weekend approaches, Trump reminded his followers of the importance of tariffs in protecting American jobs and businesses. “With the help of the United States Supreme Court,” he wrote, “we will use them to make America rich, strong, and powerful again!”

Trump’s tariff policies have sparked global market concerns, with some fearing that the trade tensions could lead to higher prices and slower economic growth. If the ruling stands, the Trump administration may have to refund some of the import taxes it has already collected.
