A Kentucky mom believes she has witnessed a modern-day miracle after spotting what looks like the “hand of God” cradling her unborn baby’s head during an ultrasound scan.

A Story of Faith and Hope

Amanda Foster, 33, shared the emotional ultrasound photo on Facebook in April 2022. She revealed her unborn son, Jay, was healthy with “perfect blood flow, no cysts, and strong kidneys.” This was especially powerful for Foster, who previously feared Potter syndrome — a rare kidney condition that is often fatal for newborns, especially boys.

Her fear came from heartbreak. At just 17 years old, Amanda lost her first baby, Xavier, at 20 weeks due to Potter syndrome. “I was angry at God,” she admitted. Doctors even warned her that having a healthy baby boy in the future would be unlikely.

Years later, Amanda and her husband Kyle welcomed two healthy daughters — and finally, in August 2022, they had a baby boy, Jay.

Now expecting another son, Kyler, Amanda faced another challenge. Doctors found a serious heart defect during her pregnancy, raising new fears.

Before every ultrasound, Amanda said she prayed on her knees in the doctor’s office, asking God to protect Kyler. Her prayer was answered in a way she never expected.

During one scan, Amanda’s daughter Bailey noticed something unusual: a large hand-like image holding the baby’s head. The family believes this was a sign of divine protection.

Amanda wrote, “When I saw it, I broke into tears. I truly believe God has His hand on my son, and I couldn’t imagine life without Him in it.”

At 36 weeks, Amanda joyfully shared that Kyler was thriving. “Our chunky boy is already over 7 pounds,” she wrote, adding that he is measuring ahead of schedule and practicing breathing inside the womb.

For Amanda, the ultrasound image is more than just a picture. It is a symbol of hope, healing, and faith after years of pain and loss.
