Noah Cyrus Breaks Silence on Long-Standing Family Feud Rumors
Noah Cyrus, the Grammy-nominated singer and sister of pop star Miley Cyrus, has finally addressed the persistent rumors about a family feud that began after the divorce of her parents, Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus.
In 2022, Billy Ray and Tish announced their separation, leading to speculation and rumors about tension within the family. After the split, Billy Ray married singer Firerose, while Tish tied the knot with actor Dominic Purcell. Fans soon noticed the absence of Miley at Billy Ray’s wedding, despite her attending Tish’s ceremony. This fueled further speculation, particularly when Miley didn’t mention her father in her 2024 Grammy acceptance speech, although she did thank her mom, sister Brandi, and boyfriend Maxx Morando.

Noah’s Take on Family Drama
In an exclusive interview with People, Noah Cyrus addressed the rumors, explaining that she tries her best to stay out of the family drama.
“I keep myself quite separated from any interest or ‘drama’ with the family,” she said. “The one thing that’s connected us with the entire world is music, and that’s what’s the most important to us. Yeah, it emotionally is draining, but it doesn’t hurt us or touch us. It’s something that you really learn to keep separate and far away from yourself.”
Noah reassured fans that despite the speculation, the family is in a good place, saying, “Everybody’s great and loves each other.” She emphasized that, even in the public eye, they remain a close-knit family. “At the end of the day, this is a family, and that’s really it: just going through normal family stuff.”

Music Reflects Family Bonds
Noah’s new album, I Want My Loved Ones to Go with Me, features themes that reflect her family dynamics. One lyric, “The words that were spoken / Mean nothing to me,” sums up the complicated but enduring nature of sibling relationships.
She also included a special tribute to her family’s musical legacy, with a track featuring a hymn written by her great-grandfather and sung by her paternal grandfather. Another song on the album is the first song written by her father, Billy Ray Cyrus.
“It really was beautiful to have that bloodline [running] through the record,” Noah said of the personal touches on the album.
Family Comes First
Noah’s comments on family and music show that, despite the public attention and family challenges, her bond with her relatives remains strong. Her candidness about navigating both her personal and professional lives highlights the complexities of growing up in the spotlight while keeping family connections at the forefront.
