Ernest Nichols, a former middle school gym teacher convicted for a series of heinous sexual offenses, has allegedly been murdered in prison. Learn more about his tragic story and the events leading to his death.

Ernest Nichols, a 60-year-old former middle school teacher from Charlotte, North Carolina, has reportedly been killed while serving his prison sentence for serious sex crimes. Nichols, who was a gym teacher at Ranson Middle School, was convicted in 2011 for a string of shocking offenses, including statutory rape, kidnapping, and forcible sexual offenses.

Nichols’ crimes came to light in 2009 when he was arrested after being accused of repeatedly raping a 15-year-old girl. Disturbingly, the victim, who was not a student at his school, claimed that Nichols impersonated his own son on social media platforms like Facebook and MySpace to lure her into sexual acts. Over a six-month period in 2008, he allegedly coerced her into engaging in sexual activities and watched her engage with another male while ordering her to tell others that she wanted to have sex with him.
