More than 150,000 Americans apply to join ICE as Trump’s immigration crackdown intensifies. DHS offers big incentives, bonuses, and job benefits.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has been flooded with job applications as President Donald Trump’s crackdown on illegal immigration continues to expand.
Earlier this week, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem announced that more than 150,000 Americans have applied to work for ICE, answering what she called “a call to defend the homeland.”
“ICE has received more than 150,000 applications from patriotic Americans who want to defend the homeland by removing the worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens,” Noem said.
“We have already issued more than 18,000 tentative job offers. Americans are stepping up to serve and help remove murderers, pedophiles, rapists, terrorists, and gang members from our country.”
Incentives for New Recruits
The surge in interest follows ICE’s nationwide recruitment drive, funded by Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill”, which allocated $75 billion toward immigration enforcement.
Some of the benefits offered to new hires include:
Signing bonuses up to $50,000
Student loan repayment and forgiveness programs
25% Law Enforcement Availability Pay (LEAP) for HSI Special Agents
Overtime pay for Deportation Officers
Enhanced retirement benefits
Recruitment ads highlight the urgency of the moment, calling this “a pivotal time in America’s history” and urging citizens to bring their skills to ICE.
Trump’s Broader Crackdown
The Trump administration has paired the hiring push with sweeping immigration measures. In August, officials announced plans to review the paperwork of more than 55 million people, including tourists, students, and green card holders, to look for possible violations.
According to immigration experts, this number also covers individuals with tourist visas that allow multiple visits, even if they are not currently in the U.S.
If a visa holder is found to have violated terms, their visa may be revoked — and if they are in the country, they could face deportation.
Meanwhile, Trump’s immigration bill also included tax cuts on tips and overtime, funding for mass deportation, and deep cuts to Medicaid, food stamps, and green energy programs.
The developments mark one of the most aggressive immigration crackdowns in U.S. history, fueling both support and controversy nationwide.
