Kirk, 31, was fatally shot on September 10 while speaking at Utah Valley University. Authorities say he was struck in the neck by a bullet fired from a nearby rooftop. Two days later, the FBI confirmed the arrest of 22-year-old Tyler Robinson as the lead suspect.

Kirk is survived by his wife, Erika, and their two young children—a son who recently turned one and a daughter who turned three.
