Podcaster Joe Rogan was left stunned during a live recording of The Joe Rogan Experience when news broke that Charlie Kirk had been assassinated.
Actor Charlie Sheen was the guest on the episode, and towards the end of their conversation, Rogan was informed mid-recording that Kirk had been fatally shot at Utah Valley University on September 10.
Rogan’s Shocked Reaction
The moment left Rogan visibly shaken as he addressed his audience:
“So this just happened, we just found out that Charlie Kirk got shot.”
Struggling to process the news, Rogan added:
“It’s a f***ed up time. People are so divided in this country.”
Sheen echoed Rogan’s disbelief, saying he could not understand how someone could be “murdered for having a different opinion or ideology.”
Rogan Remembers Meeting Kirk
Although Rogan had never interviewed Kirk on his show, he recalled meeting him once at a gun range:
“He’s not a violent guy, he’s talking to people on college campuses. He wasn’t even particularly rude, tried to be reasonable. He’s a very intelligent guy, whether you agree with him or don’t.”
FBI Investigation Continues
Kirk was assassinated while speaking at Utah Valley University. Authorities confirmed the shooter fired a single shot from a rooftop before fleeing.
Initially, two individuals were detained for questioning but were later released with “no current ties” to the case.
On September 11, the FBI released both an image and video of the suspect, showing the shooter jumping from a rooftop and escaping. Investigators also recovered the weapon and ammunition in a wooded area near the university, along with shoe impressions, a forearm imprint, and a palm print.
The FBI is currently offering a $100,000 reward for information leading to the shooter’s capture.
