Rosie O’Donnell responds fiercely to Donald Trump’s threat to strip her citizenship, calling out Epstein survivors and defending her American rights.

Talk show host Rosie O’Donnell has sharply responded to Donald Trump’s threat to strip her of American citizenship. The attack on O’Donnell came after Trump expressed his disdain for the actress and outspoken critic of his presidency. Trump, using his Truth Social platform, suggested that he was considering taking away her citizenship, labeling her “not a Great American.”

The exchange began after O’Donnell publicly voiced her support for survivors of Jeffrey Epstein, the convicted sex offender. She has been an advocate for the survivors, calling for lawmakers to release more documents related to Epstein’s crimes and to compile a list of his alleged associates. This advocacy clearly continues to anger the former president.

In his post, Trump shared a distorted image of O’Donnell and made his controversial statement about potentially stripping her citizenship. His comment read: “As previously mentioned, we are giving serious thought to taking away Rosie O’Donnell’s Citizenship. She is not a Great American and is, in my opinion, incapable of being so!”

O’Donnell, unfazed by the threat, responded directly to Trump’s post. She re-shared it on her Instagram with a pointed caption: “Banishing me again? Logan Roy would be proud.” She referenced Logan Roy, the media mogul from Succession portrayed by Brian Cox, signaling her defiance and resistance against Trump’s attack.

O’Donnell didn’t stop there. She then pointed to the ongoing work of Epstein’s survivors, suggesting that the growing attention around their efforts could eventually bring about Trump’s political downfall. She wrote: “EPSTEIN SURVIVORS are the reckoning and your gold lamé throne is melting.”

Despite Trump’s rhetoric, he lacks the legal power to strip American citizens of their rights, as such a move would violate the U.S. Constitution. O’Donnell responded to this by noting in a post on her Substack, “He can’t do that because it’s against the Constitution, and even the Supreme Court has not given him the right to do that… the only way you’re allowed to take away someone’s citizenship is if they renounce it themselves, and I will never renounce my American citizenship. I am a very proud citizen of the United States.”

O’Donnell added that she plans to acquire Irish citizenship, so she can hold dual citizenship in both the U.S. and Ireland. She shared her affection for Ireland, describing it as “peaceful” with “generous hearts and spirit.” However, she made it clear that her loyalty to the U.S. remains strong, especially as her children reside there.

Despite the heated exchange, O’Donnell emphasized that she will continue to stand up for what she believes in and won’t be intimidated by Trump’s attacks.
