US President Donald Trump recently took to Truth Social to express his frustration with a flaw in the newly renovated Rose Garden patio at the White House, leading to the firing of a contractor involved in the project.
Trump, who has been overseeing a major renovation of the White House, has not only focused on the state ballroom but also on the gardens. A significant part of the renovation included the addition of a white stone slab over the lawn of the Rose Garden. While some critics have referred to the new addition as resembling a “parking lot,” Trump defended the project, claiming that it received “great reviews” and was necessary due to previous issues with the garden’s wet, muddy grass.

“We’re getting great reviews of the Rose Garden, and we had to do it,” Trump told reporters. He explained that during past press conferences, the grass was too damp, often taking days to dry after rain, making it difficult to use the garden as intended.
However, despite the positive feedback, Trump became irate when he noticed a significant flaw in the stonework. On Truth Social, he shared footage of the incident and described how he discovered a large, deep gash in the limestone patio. The damage stretched over 25 yards, and Trump was quick to demand accountability. “I started yelling, ‘Who did this, and I want to find out now!’” Trump wrote. “I wondered, ‘Was it vandalism or stupidity?’”
After reviewing security footage, Trump claimed that the damage was caused by a subcontractor who was installing heavy landscaping on a broken steel cart, which caused the cart to rub against the soft stone. Trump, who prides himself on his experience as a builder, emphasized that such carelessness was unacceptable.
“I used the most beautiful marble and stone available anywhere,” Trump wrote. “Surfaces are very important to me as a builder. As everyone knows, I’ve built many great buildings, and other things, over the years.” He went on to assure his followers that the damaged stone would be replaced, and the contractor responsible for the mistake would be fired and never allowed to work at the White House again.
The complaint about the landscaping issue comes amid other rumors surrounding Trump, including bizarre speculation about his alleged death circulating on social media over the weekend.
Trump’s frustration highlights his keen attention to detail when it comes to the renovation of the White House, and his swift action to fire the contractor underscores his determination to maintain the integrity of the project.
